Announcement of "Reagent Day" on March 9
To commemorate the 15th anniversary of its establishment, the Japan Reagent Association has designated March 9th as "Reagent Day." This date was chosen in honor of the birthday of Yoan Udagawa (born March 9, 1798), a physician of the Tsuyama Domain and a scholar of Western studies (Rangaku) in the late Edo period. He was the first person in Japan to use the word "shiyaku" (reagent). Through this anniversary, the association will continue to promote public awareness and understanding of reagents.
